Independent learning

How can I use e-TASC?

e-TASC can help you solve problems, structure coursework or projects and create presentations. It is designed for you to use on your own as an independent learner.

Each section asks you questions and is designed to make you think about certain things. Remember you can choose the order in which you will answer these questions and it is a good idea to go back and forth between the sections.

The How to use e-TASC section tells you how to use the tools in e-TASC.

The sections of e-TASC:

Gather and organise

– start by thinking about what you already know about the problem you have been set. Write down all your ideas and then think about what you still need to find out and how you are going to find this out e.g. you could look on the Internet or in the library or perhaps it would be quicker to ask a friend or parent or teacher.

Identify and Generate

– here is your chance to be creative. What other questions would you like to know the answer to? How are you going to solve this problem? What are the most important things to do? What are you going to do first?

Decide and Implement

– what have you done so far? What are the consequences of some of your ideas? Which are the most important ideas to share and how are you going to present those ideas?

Evaluate and Learn from experience

– what went well, what didn't go well and why? What would you do again and how could you make it even better next time?
